On-ice Officials courses 2008 **Updated 27/8**

Do you fancy earning some extra money?
Some of you have expressed an interest in On-ice Officials (referees and linesmen) Level 1 courses. These are being arranged throughout the country according to demand. If anyone is interested please email eihalevel1{at sign}sky.com for bookings. Please include your name, home-town and contact telephone number.
As some teams may be aware, the supply of officials able to referee (and line) BUIHA games is not great and we would encourage clubs to put forward two or three people when these courses are announced. Some Summer Seminars are planned on the following dates:

The cost of the course is usually about £47 which includes an approved whistle. The course is mainly classroom teaching of linesman’s procedures and on-ice positioning, and at the end of the day there is an on-ice session where delegates get to put there newly acquired skills to the test on an actual U10’s league game. (Official linesmen tops will be available for you to borrow for this.) There isn’t any rules or fitness testing on this course, but there will be some simple skating tests.
It is useful to let your club know if you have booked onto an off-ice officials course. It is strongly recommended that each club should have at least 2 qualified on-ice officials (referees and linesmen).
